Leslie Ann Parkinson, 84, of California, PA died Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
She was born on Sunday, January 7, 1940, in California, PA, a daughter of the late Dr. Thomas Howard Parkinson and the late Constance Mabel (Edwards) Parkinson.
In addition to her parents, Leslie was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas H. Parkinson, and Joseph Downey Parkinson.
Leslie’s journey was defined by an insatiable thirst for knowledge and an unwavering commitment to the arts. She embarked on her educational voyage, earning a master’s degree, a testament to her tireless dedication and intellectual prowess. Leslie forged a remarkable career as a Professor of Art, sharing her wisdom and inspiration to countless young minds. Her contributions to her field and the community at Cal were immeasurable, leaving an indelible legacy for generations to come.
Left to cherish her memory are her sister-in-law, Joan Murphy Parkinson, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family, and friends.
A private memorial service celebrating Leslie’s life will take place at a time and date to be determined. Interment will be alongside of her parents and brothers in Highland Cemetery in California, PA.
