Charles A. Rapp, 79, of California, PA, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 18, 2019.
He was born Tuesday, July 25, 1939, in Athens, OH, the son of the late Wilbur A. and Helen Roderick Rapp.
He was a member of the West Brownsville American Legion Post 940, the Brownsville Lodge #60 Free and Accepted Masons, the Syria Shrine Temple of Pittsburgh and the Mon Valley Police Chiefs Association.
In addition to his parents Charlie was preceded in death his wife, Susan Blake Rapp and a sister, Marianne Whitehead.
Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Debra and Thomas Moore of Blainesburg, Darlene Sargent of California, PA and Dale and Moon Rapp, of Plainfield, IL; sister, Joyce Bleby Lewis of Bridgewater, South Australia. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Ian and Seth Moore, Kyle Sargent, and Ethan Rapp; four great-grandchildren, Xander and Grayson Moore, Jeremy Kincade and Noah James Kincade; nieces, Hannah Bleby Orford and Sarah Bleby, Denise Roadman, and Kristine Doppelheuer; nephews, Matthew Bleby and RyanWhitehead and several great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm and until 11:30 am on Saturday when funeral services will be held in the funeral home with Pastor Dawn Hargraves officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with the West Brownsville American Legion Post #940 according military burial honors.
On Friday evening the Shrine will have a Provost Guard Service at 6:45 pm. The Masonic Lodge will conduct services at 7:00 pm and the American Legion will have services at 7:30 pm.
