D. Jeannine Keightley, 89, of California, PA, died Sunday, April 28, 2019.
She was born Thursday, April 10, 1930, in Vanderbilt, PA, a daughter of the late Bert G. and Naomi Pearl (Herbert) Means.
Jeannine graduated from Dunbar Twp. High School in 1948, following high school she worked as a clerk in the Fayette County Court House, Alcoa in Cleveland, Troutman’s in Connellsville and as a billing clerk at West Penn Power in Connellsville. In California, Jeannine worked as a teacher’s aide with Alice Bontrager in a nursery school. She had a special gift with children and made several lifelong friends with some of the children and their parents.
Jeannine dedicated her life to raising her own children and caring for her family. She was a good “listener” and confidant and a good cook. Her life was her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Jeannine was preceded in death by two brothers, Bert & Robert Means.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, Roger Keightley; two children. David Keightley and wife Lori of Delaware, OH, and Rebecca Myers and husband Richard of Virginia Beach, VA. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Elisa, Matthew, Erika, Garrett and Hunter and 9 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M., and until 11:00 am on Thursday, May 2, when services will be held in the funeral home with Rev. Dawn Hargraves, officiating.
