Dorothy Adams

Dorothy Adams, 88, of California, PA, died peacefully on Monday, April 9, 2018.

She was born Tuesday, June 18, 1929, in McKeesport, PA, the daughter of the late Charles and Eva Derkacz.

She was a member of the West Brownsville American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, and regularly attended the Center in the Woods.

In addition to her parents Dot was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar M. Adams.

Left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, David and Carol Adams of Irwin, PA; two grandchildren, Jennifer French and husband Mike and Kimberly Ord and husband Rocky; 3 great grandchildren, Adam and Aidan Ord and Adeline French. Also surviving is her fiancé Don Zahand with whom she has made her home.

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 3-8 pm.  Funeral services will be held in St. Ellien Antiochian Orthodox Church on Friday, April 13 at 11:00 am with Fr. Melethios Zaffarran and Deacon Glenn McIntyre as celebrants.

Everyone is asked to meet directly at the Church on Friday.

Trisagion Prayers will be recited on Thursday evening at 6:00 pm in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Richland Cemetery.
