Harold Timothy (Tim) Davis, 77, of California, Pennsylvania, died on Saturday, August 25, 2018. He passed peacefully in his sleep, after many years of suffering from black lung, in the home he shared with his dearest granddaughter, Kimberly Lacotta.
He was born on Sunday, January 19, 1941, in Roscoe, PA, son of the late Harold O’Dell (Lank) Davis and Carolyn Jean (Caroline) Skibo Davis. He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife of 53 years, Thelma Davis, his only son, Timothy Preston (Timmy) Davis, and his sister Carolyn Simala.
Left to cherish his memory are five daughters, Christine Byrne and husband John of Denbo, Julie Louise Davis of Daisytown, Lori Davis of Blainesburg, Carrie Arcoleo and husband Mat of Campbell, California, and Amy van den Enden and husband Erik of Alkmaar, North Holland, the Netherlands, two sisters, Mary Lou Fuller and husband David of Lake City, Florida, and Cindy Minjock and husband George of Monongahela, 17 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. He also anticipated the birth of another great-grandchild, due in December.
Tim attended California Area High School and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict. He was a bus driver, a member of the California Police Department and a registered surveyor for the Pennsylvania Game Commission before he became a coal miner. He worked numerous other jobs to provide for his large family.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018, at Mariscotti Funeral Home Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California. American Legion Post 801 will accord full military honors at the funeral home.
