Isabelle Anderson

Isabelle Anderson, of California, PA died on June 22, 2019.  She was the daughter of the late George L. and Elizabeth Gibson Harris. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, James Letrick Harris; a sister, Shirley Garnic; and a son-in-law, Roger Hedden.  She is survived by her loving husband, Arnold Anderson; and her daughters, Kathleen Hedden, Cynthia Hall (Ken,) and Christine Holliday (Terry.)  There are two grandchildren, Emily Hall Marsella (Matt) and Nathan Hall, and two sisters, Betty Matarese and Mary Williamson.

Isabelle was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in California, where she served as a teacher, deacon, elder, Clerk of Session, and choir member for many years. She was a retired elementary school teacher in California for nearly thirty years. After retiring, she and her husband traveled extensively in their motor home in the United States, as well as to Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada, England, France, and Finland. Isabelle graduated from California Area High School and California State College. She was an active member in the American Association of University Women, California branch.

Friends will be received in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Anthony N Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Monday June 24, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  Her funeral service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday in the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Candace Cook officiating.  Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Route 40, Brier Hill, PA.  Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the Church on Tuesday.
