Obituary

Anthony “Tony” M. Spitek was born October 10, 1922, in Daisytown, PA. He was born to his Polish immigrant parents Martin and Anne Spitek. He moved with his family to California, PA in 1933 and has lived there ever since. He died peacefully on May 7, 2023, surrounded by the family he loved. He was 100 years old.

Tony is survived by his son, Anthony D. Spitek and his wife Melinda, grandson Michael and wife Yvonne, great granddaughter, Cait Spitek. Tony Spitek also leaves Karey O’Connor, his great niece and long-time caregiver and her son, Colby. He leaves his nephew Edward Spitek and wife Joanne who were also long-time caregivers plus their daughters and families. His Goddaughter and niece, Michelle Shields and her sons survive him. Tony Spitek has three surviving nieces, Eileen Linn and her family, Nancy Malacane and family and Patricia Kenny and her family.

Family will receive friends in the Mariscotti Funeral Home, Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, PA on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 10 am until Noon, when funeral services will begin with Chaplin Henry Frain officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Coal Center, PA.
